Before

In the course of our work we find that most of the patients are more or less worried before the surgical intervention. We also feel that after the intervention almost everybody finds it much more simple than before.

Some prior preparation and planning will help ensure that things go smoothly.

Please, read the instructions below carefully, and print it if possible, to be able to read it again. It makes you feel sure, you won’t forget anything and will make all the preparations.

  • Please wear loose fitting and comfortable clothing. It helps you feel free.
  • Please advise us of any medications you are taking.
  • Alcoholic beverages must be avoided 12 hours prior to the procedure.
  • Please inform us, if you have any allergy.
  • Please inform us, if you’re a more bleeder than it’s regular.

After

The next 72 hours following treatment

The resin bonding process takes at least 72 hours to cure in its entirety. During this time, you should avoid any hard foods (popcorn, nuts, hard toast, chips..) and maintain a soft diet (spaghetti, soups, mashed potatoes…).

Please avoid to consume very hot or extremely cold dishes.

In general:

  • Use a soft toothbrush with rounded bristles, and floss.
  • Plaque-free maintenance of these restorations is essential to their longevity.
  • Use a less abrasive toothpaste and one that is not highly fluoridated.
  • Although laminates are strong, avoid habit patterns and excessive biting forces: nail biting, pencil chewing..
  • Use a soft acrylic mouthguard while doing sports.
